Welcome to Advanced Watchlist
Sorting
You can sort by any column in the watchlist by clicking the column header. Repeated clicking of the column header will toggle between an ascending and descending sort.
To turn off the sort and have the symbol go back in the order you entered them, right click in the watchlist window and select "Turn Sort Off".
Add Other Columns
You can add any of the columns from a quotelist or a prism to the watchlist to mix and match to your needs. Just right click in the watchlist and choose "Add Column".
Just click on the column, click Add, then click Done. The Values will add the real time value in a column just like a quotelist (See "Using the Quotelist") . Adding a study will add a prism buy/sell signal in a new column (See "How to Use Prism"). Below is a mixture of watchlist, quotelist, and prism columns.
Other options from the right click menu include
Delete Column - Remove the column from under the mouse when you right clicked.
Edit Column - Change the value is the column under the mouse when you right clicked.
Auto Size Column - Packed all the columns as tight as possible to minimize space.
Manually Size Columns - Move the mouse between column headers until the cursor changes to a vertical line then hold the left mouse button done and move the border between the columns back and forth. Release the left mouse button when you have positioned it where you want.
Turn Toolbars Off/On
You can get additional space in the window by turning off toolbars, right click to toggle on/ off the window toolbar, the slideshow toolbar, or the group panel.
Turning off all the toolbar allows to pack the window space tighter.
Get Reports on Watchlist Symbols
An easy way to look up information on any symbol is to right click on a symbol and select a report.
Clicking on one of these reports will bring up the information on the symbol under the mouse when you right clicked.
Group Symbols by Tag Columns
You can also change the way the table is presented. Turn on the group area by right clicking in the watchlist and choosing "Toolbars" followed by "Toggle Group Box". If you drag the header of a check box column into the gray area above the grid it will automatically organize symbols by whether the check box is checked or not. Click the header in the group box to change the way it sorts.
Note: The summaries will also now total under the group you created. You can continue to add column headers to the gray area to create subgroups under the groups. Just drag the study titles around with the mouse in the gray area to change the order of the groups or drag them off the table to remove them.
Copy the Watchlist to Excel
You can also copy the grid to Microsoft Excel. Right click in the grid and select "Export" ==> "Export Table to Excel". A save dialog box will appear, just select the default file name or enter your own and click save. You can also change the subdirectory at this point if you wish. After the excel file saves it will launch Microsoft Excel if you have it on your computer.
Sharing a Watchlist
Sharing is an important part of the program and there are a number of ways to share a watchlist.
Share - Click share, then anyone in the chat channel can click on your chat name and get a copy of the watchlist. This will only work while you are online and you have the share open.
Copy the Watchlist to Chat - A second way to share a watchlist is to right click in the watchlist window and select "Export" ==> "Copy to Chat", this will create a permanent link in chat that anyone in the chat channel can click on and get a copy of the watchlist. This link will remain and can be found in chat history.
Copy the Watchlist to a Forum or Blog - A third way is to right click and select "Export" ==> "Copy Watchlist for Forum and Blog". Now when you are writing a blog or forum you can select paste and a link will be added to the web text. When anyone clicks on that link from within the program it will launch and show the watchlist. If anyone clicks on the link from a separate browser nothing will happen.
Saving Watchlist Information from a Shared Watchlist
What if instead of sending your watchlist to others you pick up one from someone else with information you want. Right click in the new watchlist and click "File" ==> "Save" and save a copy for yourself.
Extracting the Symbols from a Shared Watchlist - Maybe you just want the symbols from a shared watchlist. The quick way to move all the symbols is to click on the blue box if the upper left of the window menu and move them into the window you wish. The symbols will be added to the window. For example, if you drop them on a chart it will popup a new watch list linked to that chart. You can also drag and drop the row header to move one symbol at a time.
Adding Symbols from Another Window to a Watchlist
You can also do the reverse, say you want your watchlist to reflect what is in another watchlist, prism, quotelist, search results, alerts, portfolio, Just drag and drop the old list blue box onto the new watchlist and it will populate with the old list.
Replace Watchlist Content - Hold the mouse pointer down over the blue box of the old watchlist, drag it over the new watchlist, and then release the mouse. The list of symbols will then populate the watchlist.
Append to Watchlist Content -If you hold the shift key down while dragging and dropping from the blue square, the symbols will be appended to the new watchlist instead of replacing the watchlist contents
Replace Watchlist Content with Tagged symbols Only - If you hold the ctrl key while dragging and dropping from the blue square, only the tagged symbols will be placed in the new watchlist.
Add Symbols from a File - Just drag a comma delimited file of symbols onto the window and it will also populate the watchlist.
Customizing the Watchlist
You can customize the look of the watchlist if you want by right clicking and selecting table properties.
Here you can change the colors of the main table. If you wish to change the buy and sell colors, click buy/sell colors in the preferences window, scroll to the bottom and change table buy, sell or neutral colors.
