Welcome to Content Editor Toolbar

 

The content editor allows you to add and edit the content in your Web site, including text and media files. When you open a post or edit a media file, you will see the content editor. The content editor is comprised of a toolbar and a text box into which you can add your content. The community site supports three content editor views:

 

Plain Text - Provides a text area for you to add textual content. No formatting or other capabilities exist with this view.

 

 

Standard - Provides basic formatting capabilities (bold, underline, hyperlink, etc.)

 

 

Enhanced - Provides all toolbar options including on the Standard editor plus font editing options.

Toolbar Components

 

Font family - Allows you to select your text font style.

 

Font size - Allows you to set the text font size.

 

Format - Allows you to assign default heading styles to lines of text.

 

- Allows you to select a text color. You can click on the icon to select the current color or select a different color by clicking on the drop-down arrow and select from the color chart.

 

- Allows you to select a color for highlighting portions of the text. You can click on the icon to select the current color or select a different color by clicking on the drop-down arrow and select from the color chart.

 

- Allows you to cut selected portions of the text.

 

- Allows you to paste copied selections of content into the text field. This option is designed for moving content within the content editor rather than copying content from another source into the editor.

 

- Allows you to paste text from an external source other than Microsoft Word into the content editor.

 

You cannot paste media files from an external source, including Microsoft Word, into the content editor.

 

- Allows you to paste text from a Microsoft Word document into the content editor. You cannot paste media files into the content editor.

 

- Opens an HTML content editor.

 

- Allows you to spell-check your textual content.

 

- Allows you to bold, italicize, or underline selected text.

 

- Allows you to strike through selected text.

 

- Allows you to move paragraphs left or right.

 

- Allows you to apply bullet or numbered formatting to selected text.

 

- Allows you to insert a table into the content editor. When you click the table icon, a table format editor opens so you can format the table before you insert it.

 

- Allows you to create a hyperlink for selected text or remove hyperlinks from selected text.

 

- Allows you to insert media files into the content editor.

 

- Allows you to edit an image you have inserted into the content editor.  

 

Changing the Content Editor

 

By default, the Standard editor will be setup for each new user. As a registered user,  you can control which editor you use throughout the Community site.  To change your editing experience, you will need to do the following:

   

1.  Click the "Edit Profile" link on the home page.

 

2.  Navigate to the Site Options tab of the Edit Profile page.

 

3.  Change the value of the Content Editor drop-down list.

 

 

 4.  Click the Save button to save the changes to your profile.
