Area Appearance

This describes how to draw the background of a fill area in a chart or table and what color to draw the text in the area.  Not all areas have text and for those the text color will be ignored.  You can create gradient effects in an area or add a background graphic/texture.

Back Gradient Style - This defines how to draw a background color gradient.

  • None - The background color will be solid and will only use the BackColor.
  • Vertical - Shade evenly bottom to top using the backcolor (bottom of the area) to the backcolor2 (top of the area).
  • Horizontal - Shade evenly right to left using the backcolor (left side of the area) to the backcolor2 (right side of the area).
  • Backward Diagonal - Shade evenly top right to bottom left using  the backcolor (top right corner of the area) to the backcolor2 (bottom left corner of the area).

  • Rectangular -  Shade evenly the middle to all four corners  using  the backcolor (middle of the area) to the backcolor2 (corners of the area).  Not supported in DirectX off mode.

BackColor - The main color of the background if set for solid, one of the color edges if set to a gradient.

BackColor Alpha - This determines how transparent the background is.  255 = no transparency, 0 = 0 fully transparent. This is not supported in DirectX draw modes.

BackColor2 - Ignored if the background is set to solid, one of the color edges if set to a gradient.
